Project "SRP Cohesion"

In the modern context, including Latvia, the social, political and ideological landscape is increasingly fragmented by both new and challenging issues. The steep development of digital technologies and the expansion of media networks, military conflicts and neo-colonial networks, rapid climate change, as well as the transformation of culture, customs and traditions are changing not only the conception of cohesion, but also its goals. Ideological confusion, polarisation, misinformation and civic alienation threaten social cohesion and governance. Consequently, there is a need to research and develop a new knowledge base on current trends regarding cohesion, cooperation and mutual trust in Latvian society, across different social and demographic groups, exploring their deeper causes and proposing solutions.

SRP's primary goal is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of Latvia's cohesion policy since 1999, encompassing everything from data collection to international comparative reviews. This analysis will delve into the policy’s evolution, characteristics, and administrative nuances.
